Dear Neighbor,
It has been an unusual year in many regards; losses of various types have touched each one of us. Rockbridge Area Hospice understands that losing a loved one during this pandemic adds additional weight to the grieving process, as traditional ways of gathering and comforting contain risk of infection that a year ago were unimagined. Yet, ritual ways of remembering our loved ones is an important part of moving forward in the grieving process and honoring their place in our lives. On December 7th, we will hold our annual non-denominational Light up a Life Memorial Ceremony. This years event will be totally virtual, being live-streamed on the Rockbridge Area Hospice Facebook page, as well as broadcast via Zoom. If you would like the details to attend via Zoom, please email info@rahospice.org. Through a reading shared, a name read, and a candle lit, we will celebrate the lives of those we’ve loved and let go. You can honor the memory of your loved ones by making a donation towards symbolic lights on our holiday tree during this special ceremony. Your participation will make this year’s Light up a Life shine brightly! All names received by December 3rd will be included in the ceremony’s reading list and program. Each memorial donation helps to ensure that we are able to provide extraordinary care to all of our family, friends and neighbors, regardless of their ability to pay. Thank you for being a Neighbor Helping a Neighbor. Tasha Walsh, Executive Director |
