Light Up a Life
Once a month, the staff of Rockbridge Area Hospice gather to acknowledge the passing of those we have served over the previous month. A is candle lit; a prayer said; a memory expressed; a tear shed; and a breath released. This is one way we symbolically honor those whom we are honored to serve.
Much like our monthly gathering, the Light up a Life Ceremony is an opportunity for those in our community to honor those that have passed. Through a symbolic light on a tree, a name read in memory of, and candles lit by those gathered, we celebrate the lives of those we’ve cherished and said goodbye to.
Join us on December 4th at the Washington and Lee Hillel House for a non-denominational ceremony where we come together with our neighbors to Light up a Life as we celebrate the people we are grateful to have had in our lives. You can honor the memory of your loved ones by making a donation to symbolize a light on our holiday tree during this unique and special ceremony.
We need your participation to make this year’s Light up a Life the brightest ever! Please return the enclosed form or visit our page with the names of your loved ones and the designation level you’d like to light up in their memory. All names received by December 3rd will be included in the ceremony’s reading list.
Each charitable donation helps to ensure that we are able to provide extraordinary care to all of our family, friends and neighbors, regardless of their ability to pay. Thank you for being a Neighbor Helping a Neighbor.
