Rockbridge Area Hospice Services

Medical - Our nurses, physicians and nursing aides are part of a team that plan and provide services to control pain and keep patients comfortable. Click on the PEOPLE link (to the left) to meet our team.

Social Work - Our social workers are also patient care team members, providing assistance with insurance claims, bereavement, and other matters. Click on the PEOPLE link (to the left) to meet our social workers.

Bereavement - Rockbridge Area Hospice provides empathetic, sensitive bereavement care for families and friends during their time of grief. This can encourage them to reinvest themselves again gradually in life. These services are available to all who have suffered loss, whether or not their loved one was in RAH care. Chaplain - If requested, local clergy volunteer to provide spiritual support to patients and their families.

Legal Services - RAH will assist patients in securing legal services for the preparation of wills and advance medical directives on request.

Massage Therapist - Massage is one of several alternative therapies in use for pain management. Volunteer massage therapists are available upon request for home visitation.

We’d like to thank you for the wonderful care and attention given to our dad and family. Each one of you that we had contact with treated us with the love and respect of a family member. You provided us with knowledge, information, a hand to hold and a shoulder to cry on. You were there for us any and every time we needed you and we so greatly appreciate you, each and everyone.

Every aspect of your service to us was excellent—from the answered phone at your office to hands on care— perfect, courteous, and always available. Whatever—whenever daddy needed a medicine—he got it.

Everyone was supportive to us, ready to listen, give hugs, whatever we needed. Your presence made this last year and his passing easier to bear. Each of you makes a difference to those you touch.
